β-Gel is a new active moisturizing hydrogel which efficiently provides instant dryness relief, non tacky aesthetics both during and after application. β-Gel also efficiently enhances viscosity and formulation stability while promoting collagen synthesis.

β-Gel is a new active hydrogel that provides multifunctional benefits to both skin and hair, delivering rheology control with advanced moisturization and outstanding feel. This three-dimensional structure consists of a number of anionic charges on the polyacrylate polymer backbone tied together with the cationic portion of betaine.Together, this polymeric complex provides consistent and effective delivery of moisturizers immediately upon skin contact and prolonged moisture delivery after application.

Moisturization is achieved via a dual mechanism of action. The polymer creates multi-cavities which are used to entrap hydrated glycerin which can be released slowly during the application of the product to the skin, resulting in instant dryness relief. Upon contact with the skin, the natural salt content from the skin gradually detaches betaine molecules from the polymer backbone. These molecules then migrate to the skin offering long lasting moisturizing benefits.
